Personal Integrity Account and the Subconcious Mind
This flows from sections of two recent readings, which convey an important aspect of self management. It is largely an internal process of each of us, that we at most times tend to ignore. We ignore the way our acts and thoughts affect our subconscious.
The first one is from ‘First Things First’ by Stephen R Covey and Merrill couple; it talks about the ‘personal integrity account’. It could be a manual to build self confidence and also a work ethic that's efficient.

To quote
“One[1] of the best ways to strengthen our independent will is to make and keep promises. Every time we do, we make deposits in our Personal Integrity Account. This is a metaphor that describes the amount of trust we have in ourselves, in our ability to walk our talk.
It is important to start small. Make and keep a promise – even if it means you're getting up in the morning a little earlier and ….
Make sure you don’t violate that commitment and be sure you don’t over promise or under deliver. Don’t risk making a drawl from the Personal Integrity Account. Build slowly until your sense of honour becomes larger than your moods. …. Little by little your faith in yourself will increase.”
‘The greatest battles we fight are in the silent chambers of our souls’
Do small incremental things to have small positive messages about yourself to your subconscious.

The second reading was ‘Most and More’ by Mahatria Ra. In it the author talks about ‘subconscious doubts and subconscious beliefs’. It’s about the subtle power of the subconscious that we tend to ignore; the error in assuming the subconscious is outside our control or in some cases assuming absolute control over our subconscious!
‘A man[2] can be his own take-off pedestal or his own bottleneck. It all depends on how strong his subconscious mind is’

We must learn how to strengthen our subconscious mind. The subconscious reads small events to build a bias – a belief. It happens when we meet or work with people. People get defined as punctual or otherwise, dependable or otherwise, diligent or otherwise, efficient or otherwise, humble or otherwise and so on. This definition may not be accurate, but it defines how we interact with that person - it affects professional and personal relationships.
The effect is more direct with your own self - we know our truths, they are less diluted by our biases. Our own daily conduct has direct impact on our subconscious, and therein lies the detail in working to strengthening or training our subconscious mind. Initially the broken commitments will affect others conscious/subconscious impression about you and thus affect relationships, later it graduates to creating a self-doubt in YOU. That’s when it starts affecting your life.
Every time you aspire to do something big in life, every time you dream of doing something legendary, your own subconscious, because of the doubts you have built due to faltering commitments, will betray your potential.
The way ahead is to rework on your subconscious. It is recommended to bite small and do it well.

“The[3] greatest pride is to grow in your own eyes. Every time you live up to your word, you grow in your own eyes and in the process build your subconscious…. Start with private promises and commitments, and once the commitment muscle is built, you can go public with your promises and commitments”
“The[4] power of the man is in the power of his mind. The power of the mind is in the power of his subconscious mind. The power of his subconscious mind is in the power of his subconscious beliefs. And, it is these subconscious beliefs that lift a man to greatness.”
It actually in a manner reminds me of the poem ‘Man in the glass[5]’ by Peter Dale.
Here is wishing all readers of the wisdom to work on building our Personal Integrity Account and feeding positive acts into our subconscious mind - improve self belief.
"Take a moment to sit and listen with the subconscious mind ............ The biggest place to change your mental software, the strategies and thinking you use to create success, is in the subconscious."

PS: As i finished this piece a friend handed over 'The Power of Your Subconscious Mind' by Dr Joseph Murphy. It seems a message that the subject needs more study and practice.

This is an effort to understand a lifelong subject both to clear my mind and to seek comments. Maybe it will lead to a discussion that helps me understand it all better.
